Trilogy plot
Trilogy plot
Jacob and Lucy Trip wake to a storm in the middle of the night. Unknown to them, Omar, an elf from the Land of Myth, has crash-landed onto their model railway in the attic. The elf's magic spreads across the land and, when Jacob and Lucy next play trains, they are drawn into the miniature world which they created. They meet Omar and find they can drive trains and ride trucks in a world they will come to know as Hadlowville. All is good, but only for a little while. Omar realises the spell has turned nasty and it will not allow them to leave. It reads their minds and feeds off their fears, hindering their escape in any way it can.
During their quest to find the exit they discover a pyramid that fits in the palm of a hand. Omar tells them it is a pyramid of game spells, created my Myth’s most powerful wizard, Krackos. Jacob and Lucy eventually meet Krackos before returning home and are told they can keep it. The wizard says it will allow them to enter their model world again for two more adventures.

Book two. On using the first pyramid spell, they meet a witch from Myth called Gertrude and two girls from Hadlowville called Hannah and Charlotte. All begin to realise that something sinister is going on when a volcano threatens the land. An army descends on Hadlowville, led by Odolf, Krackos’s warmongering brother. The army’s task? To cause the volcano to erupt ahead of time.
Gertrude, using all the power she has, manages to save Hadlowville at the possible cost of her life. The question is; what are Krackos and Odolf really up to, and is Gertrude really dead?
Charlotte has childhood flashbacks after seeing Gertrude fall into the abyss and realises, not only is she is from Myth as well, that Gertrude is her mother and Krackos is her father. After ongoing events, all come to realise that Jacob and Lucy’s model railway has become a world that links Earth and Myth, and Krackos does indeed have an evil plan. If he succeeds in destroying the volcano, he will rule both worlds and use his magic to make all mythical creatures return to their evil ways. Father Christmas will take toys, the sandman will bestow nightmares and the tooth fairy will be someone to fear.

Book three. With one pyramid game left, Jacob and Lucy must enter the miniature world of their train set one final time to search for Gertrude with the hope that she is still alive. Help also comes from 'the madman of Myth', a pilot who has served in the Royal Air Force during World War Two. With airborne battles between Lancaster bombers and German fighter planes, and Krackos’s magic pushing back their every move, the stakes are high.
